Peakadeath
Life 40
Location Skull Plains
UMA Book Description Happy in appearance, but still lethal.

The Peakadeath (ひょっとこデス, Hyottokodesu) is a rare ghost-like UMA that occasionally appears at Skull Plains Lake. It resembles the Grim Reaper, wears a black cloak and traditional hyottoko mask, glows with a blue aura, and wields a double-sided scythe.

Much like its cousin the Okamemask, the Peakadeath is one of few UMA able to fly. Its high speed makes it hard to avoid, and it can sometimes fly right over the hills surrounding the Skull Plains Lake to attack Corobo. It float up and down in place, making the its insta-kill attacks unpredictable. It can be damaged by Animal Hunter arrows, and Soldiers can manage to cling-on when it flies closer to the ground. It has slightly less HP than the Okamemask.

Attacks[]

Since this UMA flies upwards and downwards, its hitboxes will also move around during attacks.

Scythe spin Melee, Instant-kill Slowly spins scythe around, lasts some time

Etymology[]

The "Peaka-" part of its name could be a reference to the mascot Pikachu from the Pokémon series, due to its similar looking cheeks, and the "-death" part is due to its role as a reaper. It could also be a shortening of "peak at death", due to the way it opens one eye. The Japanese name simply reflects the hyottoko mask it is wearing, parallel to the Okamemask's name.

Trivia[]

  • In the Tunesmith Book, the Peakadeath appears in the picture for "Hi, You're Dead."
  • The Peakadeath and Okamemask only spawn on occasion in one location in the game and do not appear in any Generated Quests. This makes them some of the easiest UMA to miss, often making them players' penultimate UMA to encounter for the UMA Book quest.
